- Explain the ethical principles and professional standards that guide behavioral health and community-based practice.
- Identify ethical dilemmas involving professional boundaries, confidentiality, dual relationships, and cultural responsiveness.
- Apply HIPAA, 42 CFR Part 2, informed consent, mandatory reporting requirements, and Duty to Warn principles in everyday practice.
- Utilize an ethical decision-making model to analyze and resolve real-world ethical situations.
- Develop strategies to maintain professional integrity while promoting client safety and ethical excellence.

Kenneth Ginlack, LCSW, CSAC, ICS, is a nationally recognized clinical leader, speaker, and advocate for culturally responsive care in addiction and mental health treatment. He is the President & CEO of Serenity Inns Inc. and the Kenneth Ginlack Sr. Consulting & Training Center in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
With over two decades of experience as a therapist, trainer, and systems change agent, Kenneth has helped transform how behavioral health services are delivered to African American communities.
His groundbreaking manual, Motivational Interviewing for African Americans, was written to reclaim and adapt the evidence-based MI approach in ways that honor Black culture, trauma history, spiritual resilience, and lived experience.
Kenneth is widely respected for his direct, healing-centered leadership style. He serves on the Milwaukee County Mental Health Board Executive Committee and has been honored as the 2023 Nonprofit Executive of the Year by BizTimes Milwaukee and as one of Wisconsin’s 40 Most Influential Black Leaders by Madison365.
